ESTENSIONI#1
The slow, solemn procession of time is the silent protagonist of this collection. Evoked through the symbol of the winding key - simultaneously a precious decorative element and the functional soul of the project – which allows the objects to be transformed on the basis of specific requirements and in relation to the passage of the day.
Estensioni#1 is composed of Otto, a clock which reinterprets the theme of the pendulum; Camilla, an adjustable floor lamp; and Ettore, a table composed of two surfaces.
The collection has been designed by Leonardo Fortino, designer and art director of Formae, and a passionate experimenter with materials, with a particular inclination for metal.
Estensioni is the collection which marks Car-Met’s first stage in the creation of Formae, Laura and Simone Tramonti’s key step in reinterpreting all the artisan skill of their father Gennaro in the structural metalwork sector in a new, broader and more contemporary enterprise.
This collection therefore represents an extension – hence the name – which involves consolidated skills in new ideas and images, in which the objects themselves are called on to be part of the change.
Estensioni features four different lines from designers Lucio Curcio and Luca Binaglia, Valerio Paula Ciampicacigli, Anna Mercurio and the brand’s artistic director, Leonardo Fortino. Each is based on the analysis and renewal of simple geometric forms to create home accessories designed as functional domestic presences which define an essential and colourful aesthetic universe.
